Colony Hotel and Cabana Club

The 1926 Colony Hotel & Cabana Club, a member of Historic Hotels of America, calls to mind the century old romantic era of Florida Mediterranean architecture. The Colony Porch Bar and retail store fronts are located on Atlantic Avenue, the main street of Delray Beach.  The 1926 manual elevator installed when the hotel first opened, the original iron chandeliers and candelabras, arched French doors, and wood-burning fireplaces still give life to the luridly colorful sky-lit lobby. Potted palms, orchids and authentic 1920s wicker furniture and the original telephone switchboard add to the historic charm.

The decorators were not restrained in their use of color, illustrated by recent photos of the lobby:

The Porch Bar offers a respite from the bright sun. Live music is on offer there during high season.

Bold colors extend into the corridors and guest rooms:

Five blocks from the ocean, the landmark hotel also features The Colony Cabana Club, a private beach club located two miles from the hotel, accessed by the hotel's courtesy van. The Club offers 250 feet of private Atlantic Ocean beach with complimentary umbrellas, cabanas and chaises. A salt-water swimming pool is adjacent to a bar that also offers light snacks.
